DSWD FO IX: Community Involvement as a First Step Towards Negotiated Procurement

An orientation on the EPAHP Program and Negotiated Procurement - Community Participation was given to important LGU officials and Community-Based Organizations by the DSWD FO IX through the EPAHP RPMO IX in cooperation with EPAHP Partner Agencies, Department of Budget and Management, Cooperative Development Authority, and EPAHP RPMO XI.

Twelve LGU officials from different municipalities in the region and ten (10) members from different CBOs were briefed on the principles of Negotiated Procurement and how they apply to local government procurement. The Cooperative Development Authority's point person went over the procedures for establishing a cooperative, such as drafting bylaws and registering the organization under regional cooperative laws and regulations.

In addition, the Regional Program Coordinator for EPAHP RPMO XI discussed best practices and lessons learned during the implementation of the NP-CP mode of procurement in the Davao Region's Supplementary Feeding Program.
