KUMUSTAHAN SESSION WITH PROGRAM CONVERGENCE BUDGETING (PCB No.2) – EXPANDED PROJECTS ON THE EPAHP RESETTLEMENT SUPPORT (EPERS) PROJECTS PARTNERS… SETS OFF GOOD START FOR THE YEAR 2024
A Convergence Programs and Projects is an approach that aims to focus government resources on key social protection activities of the agency which shall be coordinated in a holistic approach across Departments/ Agencies working towards strategic goals, under the Department of Social Welfare & Development Field Office VIII Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).
At DSWD Field Office 8 in perspective, the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty ( EPAHP) and the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that the EPAHP program being a convener and secretariat should be responsible for convening and acting as secretariat in all Exploratory, Consultation and Coordination Meetings of the Program Convergence Budgeting Projects of SLP focused on its ultimate goal which is to attain the SGDs that propels the attainment of SLP and EPAHP goals which are congruent to goal IATF Zero Hunger Program.
Last January 22, 2024, the scheduled series of SLP PCB Kumustahan Sessions for CY 2023 implementation commenced and was successfully conducted. Aimed at providing a platform for sharing updates on the implementation of PCB, facilitating discussion on the delivery of counterpart support by partner agencies, promoting a collaborative environment by encouraging openness, developing strategies, and achieving plans to address challenges and improve program implementation.
As a “balanced optimism” approach, the EPAHP RPMO convened and acted as secretariat to the Kumustahan session of EPERS partners involved; the NHA, DTI, the Commission on Population Development (CPD), Cooperative Development Authority ( CDA), and the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) will continue to provide livelihood opportunities and capacity building activities for the beneficiaries, the CBOs to become service providers/suppliers to private or government entities, 20% of the participants our Pantawid families/graduates of the program who are willing, interested and with passion for the micro-enterprise.
