EPAHP RPMO Region VI conducts CBO/SLPA Conference within 6 Provinces
The main objective of the conference is to give insight to the participants into the process and requirements for registering their associations and gaining legal identity as most of them are unaware of the process in obtaining these registrations. Through this initiative, participants can voice out their concerns, directly consult the officers for advice, and be capacitated with the necessary legal requirements to engage in government procurement, specifically, the Negotiated Procurement-Community Participation (NP-CP).
One common concern among the participants is the fear of being penalized and paying a large sum for the registration. The officers from the BIR ensured the participants that no penalty would be imposed upon them as long as they filed their taxes on time. Officers from the registering bodies also disclosed the registering fees they would have to incur. The representatives from the invited agencies offered to address further concerns and queries if they had complications with their application.
The conference ended with driven participants equipped with new information and opportunities to look forward to.
