The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI has implemented the Negotiated Procurement – Community Participation (NP-CP) method for rice procurement in Centers and Residential Care Facilities (CRCFs), as recommended by the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) program.

On March 26, Innovations Division Chief Asuncion M. Santiago supervised the delivery of the first-semester rice subsidy to DSWD-managed centers, including the Regional Center for Women in New Lucena and the Home for Girls in Cabatuan.

A total of 45 sacks of rice, valued at Php 157,500, were distributed: 20 sacks to the Regional Center for Women in New Lucena and 25 sacks to the Home for Girls in Cabatuan. The rice delivery was officially received by Center Heads Jojie H. Jumola (Home for Girls) and Remelyn S. Niadas (Regional Center for Women).

As part of the NP-CP procurement process, three Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) were invited to submit quotations. The Pinili Development Cooperative of New Lucena, Iloilo emerged as the winning supplier, ensuring the timely delivery of rice to the centers.

Also present to monitor the delivery were EPAHP Regional Program Coordinator Narlaine P. Gajisan, Project Development Officer II Kara Kirsten Montes, Administrative Assistant II Myra Superioridad, and Social Welfare Assistant Ma. Regina Canos.
