Partnership Meeting with TESDA IV-A
(Lipa City, Batangas) DSWD Field Office IV-A, through Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) visited Technical Education and Skills Development Authority IV-A (TESDA) on September 30, 2024. In order to empower and assist Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in the region, the meeting sought to determine how the two agencies could collaborate and work together to provide skills training programs, ultimately helping them become more self-reliant and economically stable. Both parties agreed to further explore opportunities for collaboration and create a concrete action plan to address the needs. The discussions revolved around identifying the specific needs of each CBO, developing tailored training modules, and securing funding for the initiative.
Moving forward, this collaboration and partnership is crucial in ensuring the success and sustainability of the community-based organizations in the region. By providing training and skills development opportunities, these organizations will be better equipped to serve their communities effectively. The action plan developed during the meeting will serve as a roadmap for future initiatives that will ultimately lead to positive outcomes for the community as a whole.
The Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger And Poverty is an inter-agency convergence program with the goal of mitigating hunger and promoting food and nutrition security. In CALABARZON, 17 regional line agencies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in June 2023 to formalize collaboration and ensure that food and nutrition security programs are synergized. These agencies form the EPAHP CALABARZON Regional Convergence Team (RCT), the main support working group of the program, chaired by DSWD. The EPAHP-RPMO IV-A serves as its Secretariat.
