EPAHP participates in NIA Farmers' Congress 2023
Naic, Cavite - The Farmer’s Congress 2023 is a gathering the Irrigator’s Associations (IAs) of Cavite and Batangas Provinces to access information on government services that are applicable to farmers. The event was organized by NIA IV-A on 18 December 2023 and was held at Torres Farm Hotel and Resorts in Naic, Cavite. In his speech, Engr. Carlos Dela Cruz, NIA IV-A Head of Operations, emphasized the importance of convergence to uplift the agriculture sector and help farmer beneficiaries and their families. He thanked the active participation of partner agencies in the convergence activities led by NIA.
Myrna A. Maglahus-Lamug, the Regional Program Coordinator of EPAHP-RPMO IV-A, provided an EPAHP orientation to all participants to level-off their knowledge about the program. The presentation also highlighted the role of the CBOs in promoting food security. Further, the it also emphasized the support that the program and its network can provide to CBOs including technical assistance and market linkage. CDA Region IV EO and DTI-Cavite representatives also referenced EPAHP in their presentation and how the program boosts the response of individual agencies in uplifting the socio-economic condition of CBOs in the region. During the Open Forum, officers of IAs expressed their commitment to comply with government regulatory bodies. Those that have complete documentation expressed to be considered as suppliers to government feeding programs
EPAHP is a convergence program which aims to mitigate hunger by promoting food and nutrition security. In June 2023, 17 regional partners in CALABARZON have signed their commitment to the program, including NIA IV-A and DSWD FO IV-A. - with report from MAMaglahus-Lamug.
