EPAHP RPMO IV-A conducts CBO Validation at Batangas City, Batangas
(Batangas City, Batangas Philippines). DSWD IV-A through Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty, conducted a series of validations for community-based organizations (CBOs) in lieu of Sec. Rex Gatchalian's Memorandum, reiterating the use of Negotiated Procurement Community Participation (NPCP) in procuring food items for the DSWD Feeding Programs. On July 31, 2024, the Operations and Monitoring Officer of the Regional Program Management Office conducted field validation to four (4) CBOs located in Batangas City. The City Agricultural Office of Batangas City endorsed the CBOs for validation. The validation aims to assess the technical, legal, and financial capacity of the CBOs to become a potential supplier to institutional feeding programs. All four CBOs validated are agri-based cooperatives. They all met the primary requirements and were deemed capable of meeting the food requirements of the DSWD feeding programs.
The successful validation of these CBOs is a significant step towards promoting sustainable community participation in the implementation of DSWD Feeding Programs. Moving forward, the EPAHP RPMO will continue to work closely with these CBOs to ensure the successful integration of their services into the feeding programs. This partnership will not only ensure the steady supply of food for the feeding programs but will also empower the CBOs to further develop their organizational capacities. By fostering strong relationships with these CBOs, the EPAHP RPMO aims to promote community-led initiatives that will support the long-term success and sustainability of the program.
