DSWD IV-A in Action: Linking Local Farmers to LGU - Morong, Rizal

The DSWD IV-A through EPAHP and in coordination to Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) and Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) paid a courtesy visit and exploratory meeting to the Municipal Office of Morong, Rizal last May 6, 2024. The visit aims to introduce the EPAHP and encourage the Municipal Office to support the local farmers in Morong, Rizal by prioritizing the procurement of its produce through Negotiated Procurement Community-Participation (NPCP). The meeting was attended by Municipal Mayor Sidyney Soriano, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), Municipal Assessor, Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), and Bids and Awards Committee. 

The LGU shared that, albeit using a different method of acquisition, the municipality has long prioritised the purchase of locally grown food products for its feeding initiatives. In the SFP's fourteenth cycle, they made a commitment to the same, but with Negotiated Procurement - Community Participation (NPCP) as the mode of procurement. Furthermore, the LGU promised to recommend the municipality's operational Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to EPAHP-RPMO for verification. The meeting yielded a positive outcome and the LGU pledge to support the program implementation within Morong, Rizal.
