Collaboration Meeting with Department of Education CALABARZON

Collaboration Meeting with Department of Education CALABARZON

(Cainta, Rizal) On September 30, 2024, DSWD Field Office IV-A, through Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) visited the Department of Education CALABARZON. The objective of the visit is to seek collaboration on DepEd initiatives that can complement the efforts of EPAHP in addressing hunger and poverty in the region. By sharing resources and expertise, the two agencies hope to create a more holistic approach to supporting the Community Based Organizations (CBOs) while ensuring the nutrition needs of children in the feeding program are met. The goal is to provide sustainable markets for CBOs through the DepEd School Based Feeding Program (SBFP), which will not only help alleviate hunger in the region but also empower local communities to become more self-sufficient. DepEd IV-A has committed to supporting the initiative with the proper guidelines from the central office.

Through this partnership, EPAHP and DepEd CALABAZON aim to create a long-lasting impact on the lives of those living in poverty by providing them with the necessary resources and support to improve their quality of life. Together, they hope to pave the way for a brighter future for marginalized communities in the region.

The Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger And Poverty is an inter-agency convergence program with the goal of mitigating hunger and promoting food and nutrition security. In CALABARZON, 17 regional line agencies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in June 2023 to formalize collaboration and ensure that food and nutrition security programs are synergized.  These agencies form the EPAHP CALABARZON Regional Convergence Team (RCT), the main support working group of the program, chaired by DSWD. The EPAHP-RPMO IV-A serves as its Secretariat.  For more information, visit epahp.org or contact EPAHP-RPMO IV-A at 0998-939-4614. - with reports from HSParaiso
