Bagong CALABARZON Barangay Forum at Morong, Rizal

EPAHP RPMO IV-A in partnership with Philippine Information Agency (PIA - CALABARZON) conducted the Bagong Calabarzon Barangay Forum at Morong, Rizal providing the local farmers with information on government programs and initiatives towards mitigating hunger, food and nutrition security and reducing poverty.

(Morong, Rizal, Philippines) On August 9, 2024, the government program on hunger and poverty was highlighted during the fourth implementation of Bagong Calabarzon Barangay Forum by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) in Morong, Rizal. The Bagong Calabarzon Barangay Forum is part of the Bagong Pilipinas campaign of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., and serves as the national government's branding and communications strategy.

The activity highlighted the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) program, which aims to mitigate hunger, ensure food and nutrition security, and reduce poverty. With speakers from the DSWD through EPAHP RPMO IV-A, the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), and the Department of Agriculture - Agribusiness Marketing Assistance Division (DA-AMAD), the Bagong Calabarzon Barangay Forum provided valuable information to the local farmers of Morong, Rizal. The speakers discussed various initiatives and programs that can help improve the livelihoods of farmers. The forum served as a platform for the farmers to learn about resources available to them and to engage with government agencies for support. 

Atty. Odessa Reyes, the Municipal Admin of Morong, Rizal, closed the activity by giving thanks to PIA CALABARZON and DSWD IV-A for their support in organizing the event. She encouraged the farmers to take advantage of the services offered by the government and to participate in future activities that aim to improve their livelihood. Atty. Odessa Reyes also thanked all the participants for their active participation and reiterated the importance of collaboration and cooperation in achieving the goals of EPAHP.
