30 Fisherfolk in Pililla Town Receive Livelihood Assistance Under PCB RRP

The Halayhayin-Yakat Fisherfolks Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Association received PhP 450,000 seed capital fund from the DSWD Field Office IV-A today, October 23.
The association, composed of 30 fisherfolks from the said town, will use the seed capital fund to start their proposed rice and fishing gear supplies retailing business.
The SLP is a program implemented by the DSWD that capacitates participants to start sustainable micro-enterprise projects through skills enhancement activities. Together with the EPAHP Program, it implements the Zero Hunger Program Convergence Budgeting Projects (PCB).  In CALABARZON, FO IV-A pilots the PCB Capacity Development for Farmers - Risk Resiliency Program (RRP) in partnership with BFAR IV-A and LGUs. RRP targets local fisherfolk and organize them into Sustainable Livelihood Associations (SLPAs).  Beneficiaries receive livelihood grants, capacity-building and provision of materials for fish-related enterprises.
