Community-Based Organization Successfully Completes Comprehensive Training on Meat and Vegetable Processing, Crop Insurance, and Family Planning in Partnership with TESDA, PCIC, and CPD in Santiago City

 

Santiago City, Isabela - A comprehensive Community-Based Organization (CBO) Training was successfully conducted in collaboration with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), and the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) on May 23-24, 2024, at Diocitas Hotel.

The two-day event saw participation from Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) and Implementing Agencies (IAs) from Isabela. The primary goal of the training was to enhance the capacity of CBOs, empowering them to improve their livelihoods through the sustainable use of program resources and fostering collaboration among members.

Day 1 Highlights:

  • Mr. Reynomel M. Bartolome from PCIC delivered an insightful session on Crop Insurance, providing essential information to the attendees.
  • Ms. Daiano Rose M. Manangan, Information Officer II, and Mr. Anthony O. Taguinod, POPDEV Coordinator and Planning Logistics Coordinator from CPD, presented on responsible parenthood and family planning.

Day 2 Highlights:

  • Ms. Rochellewin I. Laureta, Instructor II from TESDA Region 2, conducted an engaging session on product development for meat processing and other food items.

The training activities focused on enhancing practical knowledge and skills that participants can apply in their work. These efforts aim to lead to improved job performance, productivity, and satisfaction. Moreover, the sessions fostered better communication between trainers and participants, establishing a foundation for future learning sessions.

This initiative is a significant step towards empowering local communities and ensuring the sustainable development of their livelihoods through capacity-building and collaboration.
