LOOK | The DSWD Field Office XI, through its Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) and the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region XI, facilitated the Midyear Assessment and Planning Workshop for the members of the Regional Convergence Team on August 2, 2024, at the Mindanao Training Center, NIA Compound, Davao City.
The activity aimed to present the first-semester accomplishments of each agency based on their targets and commitments to EPAHP. It also outlined the plans for the second semester that require the participation of the members. During the collaborative discussions, the RCT identified several convergence activities, including Negotiated Procurement-Community Participation, the EPAHP Caravan, the integration of Gender And Development (GAD) initiatives, the development of a regional mapping system, environmental projects, and the incorporation of each agency's program activities and projects into the Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition.
As part of ongoing monitoring and assessment, this activity served as a platform for all partner agencies to commit to the continuous process of collecting and analyzing data, gathering and discussing information from partners to assess the impact and efficiency of the EPAHP program on the target beneficiaries. Furthermore, it promoted strong partnerships among the key stakeholders of the programs.
DSWD Regional Director Atty. Vanessa B. Goc-ong challenged the members of the Regional Convergence Team to revisit their implementation strategies and continue identifying ways to address poverty and malnutrition in the region. She also suggested that the next activity should present best practices for replication, especially those that are effective and efficient.
EPAHP is one of the banner programs under the National Food Policy, aimed at contributing to the national government's efforts to address hunger and poverty through the synergy and convergence of essential services provided by its partners.
