DSWD XI CONDUCTS EVALUATION OF LIVELIHOOD ASSOCIATIONS AS FOOD SUPPLIERS TO RESIDENTIAL CARE FACILITIES
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI recently completed an assessment concerning the involvement of Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) associations and federations as suppliers to the various Department Centers and Residential Care Facilities (CRCFs) in Davao Region. The said evaluation activity was held during the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Regional Program Management Team Meeting on July 31, 2023 at the DSWD Maagap Operations Center.
The evaluation served as a vital monitoring mechanism, allowing an in-depth assessment of the associations’ performance and enabling the measurement of satisfaction levels among center personnel regarding the quality, quantity, and consistency of supplies.
The activity also provided a platform for addressing concerns and issues, ultimately leading to effective resolutions aimed at better supporting the associations.
The associations have been consistently delivering meats, eggs, vegetables, and fruits on a weekly basis to CRCFs for the clients’ regular feeding since April 3, 2023. As of July 27, the associations have generated a cumulative sales revenue totaling to PHP 2,692,671.17.
The officers representing these associations expressed their gratitude for this opportunity. The income generated will significantly contribute to sustaining their projects, thereby playing a crucial role in enhancing the socio-economic well-being of their members.
EPAHP stands as a flagship program under the National Food Policy, aiming to contribute to the national government’s endeavors in combating hunger and poverty. This is achieved through the collaborative efforts and synergistic approach of its partner agencies. By adopting this strategy, the Department is aligning with the national government’s long-term vision for the Filipino people and the nation–a vision of a stable, prosperous, and secure life, captured in the phrase “Para sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Buhay.”
