EPAHP RPMO X in partnership with DA-ATI spearhead the Capacity-Building Training on Vegetable Production for 30 program participants in the province of Camiguin and Lanao del Norte

The Department of Agriculture- Agricultural Training Institute X (DA-ATI X) spearheaded the activity through their Training Center Superintendent II/Center Director, Maria Lydia A. Echavez with training officer, Teodosia M. Jaraba provided the training participants with gardening starter kits (seeds or seedlings, garden tools, and organic fertilizers) and distributed IEC materials to encourage adoption of knowledge and skills on urban gardening.

In the 3-day training, participants were taught the significance of vegetable gardening, production of common lowland vegetables, identification and management of common insect pests and diseases affecting vegetables, composting techniques, and natural farming technology system (NFTS) concoctions.

Additionally, program participants were given the chance to engage in various practical demonstrations on field layout and soil preparation.

The said activity was conducted to thirty (30) individuals identified by the Municipal Agriculture’s Office on July 10-12, 2024 at Catarman, Camiguin and to two (2) Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) on July 16-19, 2024 at Brgy. Palao, Tubod, Lanao del Norte.
