EPAHP FO X - Conduct Community-Based Organization Capacity Building and Empowerment Training
The Enhance Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) conducted a three-day workshop on Community-Based Organization Capacity Building and Empowerment Training from August 21-23, 2024, at Pearlmont Hotel, Limketkai Drive, Cagayan de Oro City. The workshop brought together various Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) that are currently linked or set to be linked with EPAHP Demand Partners, which include hospitals and DSWD Centers and Residential Care Facilities. Targeting a goal was to assess and align procurement strategies between CBOs and demand partners, ensuring the strengthening and proper delivery of supplies through the EPAHP procurement process. The training aimed to enhance the capacity of CBOs to better understand and participate in public procurement, especially under the Negotiated Procurement-Community Participation (NP-CP) framework.
The event featured EPAHP Support Partners as resource speakers who presented on various topics throughout the three days of the training. These topics were crucial for building the knowledge and skills needed for effective procurement, sustainable operations, and community engagement by the CBOs.
The said capacity-building activity was a significant step in empowering CBOs to strengthen their role in the supply chain, contributing to EPAHP’s goals of addressing hunger, poverty, and promoting sustainable partnerships.
