Community Based Organization (CBO) Suppliers Deliver Goods for SFP Implementation in San Fernando, La Union

San Fernando, La Union - On January 17, 2024, a Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP)-assisted CBO, Aringay Veggies Agriculture Cooperative and a Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-assisted CBO Bagulin Multipurpose Cooperative delivered the first batch of the goods for the implementation of the 13th Cycle of the Supplementary Feeding Program in San Fernando, La Union.

The Aringay Veggies Coop delivered rice, malagkit rice, veggie noodles, vegetables while the Bagulin MPC delivered eggs and other poultry items at the Barangay Hall of the Ilocanos Sur, San Fernando, La Union for the 65 Day Care Centers with a total of 1,500 children beneficiaries. The EPAHP Regional Program Management Office staff assisted in the inspection of goods during the said delivery while the Project Development Officers (PDOs) of SLP assisted the Aringay Veggies in arranging the items.

For both CBOs, this is their first engagement as supplier for the SFP under the Negotiated Procurement - Community Participation. Though faced with some struggles, they are both enthusiastic about the experience and excited about the results.
