San Jose and Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro ready for the SFP 13th Cycle Implementation through SMEs and Local Farmers

LOOK I DSWD MIMAROPA through the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty-Regional Program Management Office (EPAHP-RPMO), conducted a consultation dialogue to follow up and monitor the engagement of the Local Government Unit (LGU) in adopting the Negotiated Procurement - Community Participation (NP-CP) for the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) 13th cycle at the local level with concerned LGUs on November 30, 2023.

The dialogue is also in response to the directive of the DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian to encourage the Local Government Units (LGUs) to engage the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Farmers’ cooperatives in the implementation of the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP).

Attendees of the meeting include the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) Chairpersons and members, Municipal Planning Development Officer (MPDO), Accounting staff, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) staff and the Municipal Supplementary Feeding Program Coordinator from the LGUs of San Jose and Magsaysay in the Province of Occidental Mindoro and spearheaded by the EPAHP-RPMO in the coordination with the DSWD SFP Focal Person.

The EPAHP Program is a convergence program strategy that aims to help mitigate hunger, ensure food and nutrition security, and reduce poverty in rural and urban communities, including marginalized communities by providing appropriate livelihood interventions including linking farmers and fisherfolks to institutional markets.
