DSWD CAR Hosts Successful SLPA Conference in Apayao to Empower Community Service Providers

Apayao — The Department of Social Welfare and Development - Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD CAR) recently held the SLPA Conference at RJ Domingo Fish Farm, Apayao. This event aimed to prepare and empower Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) funded associations to become proactive community service providers.

The conference provided a comprehensive orientation on Negotiated Procurement - Community Participation (NP-CP), equipping participants with the knowledge needed before linking them to various institutional markets. Through this initiative, the DSWD CAR aims to enhance the capabilities of the SLP associations, enabling them to effectively engage in community procurement opportunities.

In addition to the technical training, the conference fostered a sense of camaraderie among the participants. It encouraged the associations to explore new possibilities and assessed their readiness to take on greater responsibilities in their livelihoods.

The event was a significant step towards building stronger, more resilient communities in Apayao, with the SLP associations playing a crucial role in local development.
