EPAHP and DAR Ifugao Hold Joint Consultation to Identify CBO Suppliers for Supplementary Feeding Program
Ifugao — The Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) - Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) recently held a joint consultation meeting with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Ifugao to validate and identify eligible Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) as suppliers for the upcoming 14th cycle of the SFP. The meeting, which brought together representatives from EPAHP, DAR Ifugao, and various local CBOs, aimed to ensure the provision of nutritious food items for the program.
The primary objective of the consultation was to confirm that selected CBOs meet the necessary criteria to supply high-quality, nutritious food for the SFP. This program is a crucial component of EPAHP's broader mission to combat hunger and poverty, focusing on improving the health and nutrition of children in Child Development Centers (CDC) and elementary schools across the region.
During the meeting, participants reviewed eligibility requirements, including production capacity, quality standards, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Representatives from DAR Ifugao provided detailed assessments of the CBOs, highlighting those with demonstrated capability and readiness to supply the SFP.
Key discussions also centered on strategies for capacity building and support for CBOs to enhance their production capabilities and ensure a consistent supply. This collaboration between EPAHP and DAR Ifugao emphasizes the importance of leveraging local resources and empowering community organizations to contribute effectively to national feeding programs.
