Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty Renews the Memorandum of Understanding with Partners
The ceremonial signing reaffirmed the commitment of the National Government Agencies (NGAs) towards a continuous collaboration in achieving sustainable development goals related to hunger mitigation, food and nutrition security, and poverty reduction.
DSWD CAR Regional Director Leo L. Quintilla extended a warm welcome to the partner attendees.
Meanwhile, DSWD Assistant Secretary for Innovations Atty. Baldr H. Bringas, in his message, recognized the power of collaboration and unity.
"As we put pen to paper today, we symbolize the power of collaboration, the strength that comes from unity, and the infinite potential of what we can achieve when we work together towards a common goal. We have, in essence, laid the cornerstone for a future where hunger and poverty are not just problems to be tackled but challenges to be conquered," Asec Bringas said.
Present during the activity are the NGA partners as the Regional Convergence Team (RCT) from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Agriculture (DA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Commission on Population and Development (CPD), National Nutrition Council (NNC), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and the Department of Tourism (DOT).
The EPAHP initiative was first established in 2019 as a joint effort amongst various NGAs. Since its inception, it has played a role in coordinating regional efforts to combat poverty, and nutrition and food insecurity by promoting agricultural development, improving nutrition, and linking Community Based Organizations to institutional markets.
