Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty Conducts its 1st Community Based Organizations Conference in the Cordillera Administrative Region

PLAZA GARDEN HOTEL AND RESIDENCES, BAGUIO CITY - The recently concluded Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty Community Based Organization Conference brought together a diverse group of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), EPAHP partner National Government Agencies, and Resource Persons to discuss strategies and forge partnerships in the fight against hunger and poverty.

PLAZA GARDEN HOTEL AND RESIDENCES, BAGUIO CITY - The recently concluded Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty Community Based Organization Conference, from July 4 to 7, 2023, brought together a diverse group of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), EPAHP partner National Government Agencies, and Resource Persons to discuss strategies and forge partnerships in the fight against hunger and poverty.

The conference aimed to enhance collaboration among stakeholders, conduct supply and demand mapping, share best practices, and explore effective solutions to address real-time challenges faced by communities in the Cordillera Administrative Region. With the focus on empowering CBOs, the event sought to amplify their role in driving sustainable development at the grassroots level.

Throughout the conference, attendees engaged in thought-provoking discussions on various topics such as Negotiated Procurement - Community Participation, BIR Registration requirements and exemptions, Cooperative Development Intervention, EPAHP Lending Program, Food Safety for Food Preparation, Family Planning and Development, and Digital Marketing. Resource Speakers from different national line agencies shared their expertise and knowledge in order to enlighten and capacitate participating CBOs to become suppliers / service providers to various institutional markets. Furthermore, EPAHP internal partners from the Procurement Section assisted several CBOs in their PhilGEPS registration as part of the EPAHP’s goal in providing technical assistance to CBOs.

As the conference concluded, participants expressed their commitment to continued collaboration and knowledge sharing. With renewed energy and strengthened networks, attendees left the conference equipped with new ideas, strategies, and connections to drive positive change in their respective associations and communities.
